un-sanctioned™ is a performance running apparel brand in the making. And, it's a project by the Bay 13 Institute. Focussed on sustainability; creating better, more conscious running innovations. In 2018 a partnership was born with leading Italian fabric knitting mill — Miti. Together with Miti, un-sanctioned's first innovation was created; a 100% recycled performance polyester fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles. To test the fabric from a performance perspective, un-sanctioned™ decided to chase down a World Record in the 2018 Berlin Marathon. Which record? The Guinness World Record for the fastest ever marathon dressed as Elvis (yes, it's kind of a crazy big thing); jumpsuit, wig, sideburns, gold-rimmed aviator glasses and all. And yes, this means the entire Elvis jumpsuit was made from the recycled performance fabric created. And the result? A new World Record time of 2hrs36min. Global press, TV, social media coverage, podcast interviews, and an immediate challenge publicly sent out from the dethroned Elvis.
